NEET 2023 Application Form

National Testing Agency (NTA) is inviting an online application form for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2023 for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India. As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) is to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions, including those governed under any other law in force.

A total of about 543 cities in India and 14 cities outside India (Annexure-I) have been added for NEET (UG) – 2023. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2023 Exam will be conducted in 13 languages such as English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET UG Application Fee 2023

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Application Fee is Rs 1600 for General Category aspirants, Rs 1500 for General EWS/OBC-NCL, and Rs 900 for SC/ST/PwBD/ Third Gender. Those aspirants who are from outside India from any category, they will be charged Rs 8500 for NEET 2023 Application Fee.

Who Can Apply for NEET-UG 2023?

Citizenship: Indian citizens and foreign nationals of India who want to pursue a UG medical course from a foreign medical or dental institute must also qualify for NEET UG.

Age: The aspirants must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will have completed that age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of the undergraduate medical course. There is no upper age limit for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test -UG 2023 Exam.

Qualification: Those candidates who have passed 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, and English as main subjects will be eligible for NEET 2023 Exam.

Aspirants who will appear for class 12 or the equivalent board examination this year are also eligible to apply for NEET-UG. To appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2023, general category students must have secured the 50 percentile in class XII. However, there exists a relaxation in the minimum percentage for reserved category aspirants.

What are the minimum marks required for each category?

  • 50% – General
  • 40% – SC/ST/OBC

NEET Exam Pattern 2023

  • The exam pattern of the 2023 EXam will be a pen and paper-based test consisting of four subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Zoology) and two sections (sections A and B) with MCQ-type questions in each subject.
  • For every correct answer, 4 will be awarded, for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted and zero (00) will be allotted for questions without attempt.
  • The time duration of the NTA National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Exam 2023 will be 03 hours 20 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG 2023

Eligibility for appearing in NEET (UG) 2023, according to the related Regulations of NMC and DCI are as follows:

Age Limit The applicant has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or would have completed that age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of the undergraduate medical course.
Upper Age limit According to letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 9 March 2022, received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.
Citizen Eligibility Indian Citizens/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) desirous of pursuing an undergraduate medical course in a foreign Medical/Dental Institution also need to qualify for NEET (UG).
Number of Subjects There will be a total of 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
No. of Attempt There is no restriction on the maximum NEET UG Exam attempt limit in 2023.
Nationality Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals aspirants are eligible to apply
